HOLD FAST! OH MY SOUL

I must keep my hand in the hand of my Lord
As down life's long pathway I trod.
Behind His safe shield I must hide my soul
Till I am at last with my God.
I need His strength as I trod life's long road
Our contact must be fast and sure.
I must walk in His light and never lose sight
Hold fast! He'll help me endure.
I need not blindly grope on my way without hope
He has chartered the way clear for me
Of which "church" I can't shout
Of which 'way" there's no doubt
Only obedience on my part per se.
I won't let the vain beckoning of life pull me down,
Fast rooted in truth I will be.
For Christ is my all and Heaven my goal
For all eternity, for all eternity.
Hold fast! Oh my soul;
Hold faster the tide Should turn and sweep me away.
Hold fast oh my soul, hold fast to
His hand He'll deliver me safe some sweet day.
Hold fast! Hold fast! Our Lord shall enfold us at last.
Hold fast! Hold fast! He'll gently enfold us at last.
